Proper adhesion makes the difference between a sealcoat that lasts years and one that fails within months. Many contractors struggle with peeling, flaking, or uneven coverage because they overlook key preparation steps. This quick guide to improving adhesion when sealcoating asphalt will help you achieve better results.

Use the Right Equipment

Start with quality blacktop sealing equipment that distributes sealer evenly across the surface. Clogged spray tips or damaged agitation systems create uneven application patterns that weaken adhesion.
