QuikJoint® 4" Over-Banding Strips are a fast, permanent solution for sealing asphalt cracks and pavement joints. These self-adhesive rubberized asphalt strips create a durable, waterproof seal when heated with a propane torch, helping prevent water infiltration that leads to pavement deterioration.

Unlike traditional hot-pour crack sealing methods, QuikJoint requires no tar kettle, pour pot, or specialized melting equipment. Simply apply the strip, heat it until it liquefies, and create a long-lasting bond in minutes.

Each package includes four (4) rolls measuring 4" wide x 50' long (200 total linear feet).

Note: QuikJoint is an over-banding material. It is not intended to bridge structural movement or replace proper crack filling. Cracks wider than 1/16 inch should first be filled with an approved hot or cold crack filler, before applying QuikJoint.

Installation Instructions

Surface Preparation

• Surface must be clean, dry, and free of dirt, dust, oil, and debris.
• Recommended pavement temperature is 40°F (4.4°C) and rising.
• If necessary, warm damp or cold pavement with a propane torch before installation.
• Fill cracks wider than 1/16 inch flush with the pavement surface before over-banding.

Application

1. Peel back approximately one foot of the white release liner.
2. Position the exposed adhesive side over the crack or joint.
3. Continue removing the liner while pressing the strip firmly into place.
4. Cut the strip to length after the repair area is covered.
5. Do not remove the clear plastic film on top of the material.

Heating

Using a propane torch with a 2-inch or larger torch head, evenly heat the strip while continuously moving the flame.

Continue heating until:

• The clear plastic film completely burns away.
• The rubberized asphalt fully liquefies.
• The material bonds to the pavement surface.

Do not overheat the material to the point that it burns or runs off.

Ready for Service

After cooling for only a few minutes, the repaired area can be:

• Opened to traffic
• Covered with sand
• Sealcoated

• Use caution when operating propane torches.
• Torch heads remain extremely hot after use.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment during installation.

Storage

Store QuikJoint indoors at temperatures below 120°F (49°C).

After opening, use the supplied glossy separator sheets when re-packaging unused rolls to prevent the material from sticking together.
